What actually constitutes an authentic RIN TIN TIN Line Dog
A single individual having more than 60 years breeding the same bloodline is the first indication that the dog they have produced is an authentic RIN TIN TIN Line dog.
A single appearance of RIN TIN TIN II or RIN TIN TIN IV in a dogs pedigree 12-15 generations back does NOT make that dog an official "Line Dog" or an "Authentic" descendant of RIN TIN TIN dogs. As a general rule, any dog will be the representative of the dogs who appear in the first three generations of his pedigree. In the case of True RIN TIN TIN Line Dogs, those first three generations are authentic RIN TIN TIN Line Dogs.
A true "Line Dog" is one that has been bred by Daphne Hereford and in accordance with the "official" breeding program. The pedigree of a genuine Line Dog includes several generations of dogs who are linebred to specific RIN TIN TIN Line Dogs and for specific characteristics from the genuine lineage. True Line Dogs are identical in structure, color and form as the dogs produced by Lee Duncan. The authentic Line Dogs are bred in accordance with the breeding program he developed more than 60 years ago.
To ensure integrity of the bloodline, ALL progeny (with the exception of those kept specifically for the breeding program) are placed on Spay/Neuter contracts - no outside breeding is Ever allowed. Occasionally there are people "claiming" to have RIN TIN TIN Line dogs or descendants, but the only authorized breeder is Daphne Hereford, who has maintained the bloodline for some six decades.
Over the past few years we have worked with select RIN TIN TIN company Board Members in an effort to mentor them for the possibility of of assuming the position of "Official" Breeder from Daphne Hereford. Jessica McRae has joined the mentor-ship program and will assist Miss Hereford with the breeding of the Line Dogs.
